THE DRAGON IN CHINA
Dragon The dragon, a symbol of power in China, is a surrealistic animal with a history of more than three thousand years old. The animal was a symbol used in the totems, and is a creation which integrated different elements of various animals such as the deer, the horse, the pig, the bull, the eagle and the fish.

Unlike the dragon in Spain, the dragon in China represents wealth, pride, luck and maximum prestige and carries no meaning of evilness. Dragon is a decoration motif frequently used on highly valuable objects like jade, bronze and ceramic ceremony utensils, grand columns in remarkable buildings and constructions, etc. The dressing of the emperors usually was yellow and had dragon motifs on it. This is a dressing exclusively wearable by him. The penalty for the violation of this rule was so severe that one might be condemned the death penalty. Generally speaking, the Chinese call themselves "the descendents of the dragon".
