The low quality worldwide factory?

Today, many people still see China as an enormous country that produces cheap products with low quality. Although this is the unfortunate truth in some part of the country, we have always to bear in mind that China is a vast country where many types of reality coexist. As a matter of fact, those who try to make contact with this country nowadays do not always want to get cheap quick products only. Many prestigious brands acutally have chosen China because of its attractive market potential as well as its role as a skilled supplier of high-end technological goods and components which are already being sold in the western market successfully.

We believe that the essential point of sourcing from China is to chooose well with a far vision, selecting the most suitable products and their suppliers with well-defined selection criteria so as to make the best use of the human and infrastructure resources which, by no doubt, China possesses. The huge American company Microsoft Corp. is a very good example. The company has installed a laboratory in Beijing from the year 1998, which is today the largest of its laboratories outside the American territory. Its main function is the investigation of the next-generation interfaces, internet technology as well as the search for innovation techniques in digital entertainment and video and image handling, etc. This, as all of us know, is by no means the only case that exists, as the continous growth of the commercial links that China maintains with the rest of the world and with every industry sector prove us during the past decades.
